In France, the market is a way of life.
While supermarkets exist, the heart of shopping is in the outdoor marchés, which occur twice a week in neighborhoods all across Paris. On this tour, we'll visit the largest market in Paris and a more intimate, local one, as we walk through the real, everyday streets where tourists rarely tread.
This half-day tour is available only on Thursdays and Sundays, rain or shine. Since market life starts early, we’ll head out in time to beat the crowds and experience the freshest offerings.
At our primary market, you’ll find everything from meats, cheeses, and fresh produce to prepared foods, unique antiques, and souvenirs. Like the word "Bonjour," the word “Marché” has many meanings in France. We’ll explore a few of my favorite spots, which may become yours too!
Don’t forget to bring cash—you’ll be tempted by delicious food and unique treasures along the way!
